During these challenging times, it is comforting to know that God still loves us.  You could make a strong argument that He is trying to get our attention, but God loves us as much today as He ever has.

 

The Bible has proven itself through many fulfilled prophecies to be the inspired word of God.  John 16:33 says... In the world ye shall have tribulation.  Ecclesiastes 3:1-15 says...To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

 

During times of personal difficulty, I have read through these verses so many times, looking for the word "Fear." ...and I cannot find it anywhere.  There is a time for all of these things, but nowhere is it written that there is a time to fear.  In fact, the Bible assures us in so many places that when we confess our sins and trust in Jesus, we have NOTHING to fear.  Jesus said... "I have overcome the world."  By trusting in Jesus, we too can overcome the challenges of the world.  The trials we are facing are temporary.  They will most definitely pass.  In the meantime, let us remember the two Commandments that Jesus himself gave us...To love God with all of our hearts, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.  Even as life's challenges and distractions compete for our attention more than ever before, let us individually and collectively move God and his Son, Jesus who died on the cross for our sins... to the very center of our lives, and let us forgive, love and pray for one another.

 

May God bless all of you through these difficult times and beyond.

This too shall pass.  Let us trust in our Savior Jesus through these times of trial.  Let us remember, and thank Him all the more when our trials pass and He pours out more and more of his blessings upon us, in this life and throughout eternity.
